Yeah I'm almost at the half way mark!!!
It's quite exciting as I think about what will happen in the next 4 months.
In fact it has always been exciting.
At 6 weeks he was just a blob - like literally just a spot.
At 10 weeks he was a tiny 4cm and kicking away when we saw the ultrasound graphics. The heartbeat was very clear this time and pumping real excitedly.
Then he went with me to Israel for 10days.
Then at 14 weeks he was 10cm!! And moving arms and legs this time as we witnessed his growth. Took the blood test at this stage too. The normal one I mean. Kenneth & I decided not to go for the triple blood test, which will indicate any likely deformities with our baby. We decided bravely and prayerfully that the baby will be ours regardless of the state. The baby was confirmed to be a boy and this time we could also see his legs, toes, hands, fingers and the spine.
At 19 weeks + 1 day (yesterday, also kenneth's 30th birthday), there was a more detailed measurement of the size of his head, length of his arms and legs. And that result was compared against national average just to track his growth. Head and arms were average, but legs were on the long side (like kenneth's!). That was quite exciting to know :)) And once again we could see every part of him, this time even his heart! Like the 4 ventricles in the heart! The fingers and spine were much clearer now and snapped into the pics too!
I'm really excited as the baby grows. And thank God mother & baby have been well. OK, except that I'm not supposed to put on so much weight. To date I've put on about 5kg.. which the doc thinks it's a wee bit too much. Sigh.
